Sacred Harp Singing Resources
- Fasola.org: The web site of the Sacred Harp Musical Heritage Association, Fasola.org features Sacred Harp singing resources, a collection of the minutes taken at thousands of Sacred Harp singings since 1995, comprehensive indexes of the songs in the book, and much more. Fasola.org also maintains e-mail listservs about Sacred Harp singing.
- Sacred Harp Publishing Company: The Sacred Harp Publishing Company publishes the Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition and maintains the Sacred Harp Museum in Carrolton, Georgia. Visit their web site to order copies of the Sacred Harp, “the best collection of sacred songs, hymns, odes, and anthems ever offered the singing public for general use.”
- Warren Steel’s Sacred Harp Singing Site: This site, maintained by a Sacred Harp singer and scholar in Mississippi, includes schedules of Sacred Harp singing conventions, all day singings and regularly held local singings, a comprehensive resource guide, and much more.
- Awake My Soul: The Story of the Sacred Harp: Awake My Soul a feature documentary that explores the history, music, and traditions of Sacred Harp singing. The movie features interviews from lifelong Sacred Harp singers and many examples of singing at Sacred Harp Conventions. An excellent way to learn about this music.
- Sacred Harp Singing in New York State: Sacred Harp singings are held all across New York State, from New York City, to Rochester, to Long Island, to the Capital Region. This web site includes a complete list of singings with contact information and other resources.
- Camp Fasola: Billed as “An Old-Fashioned Summer Camp for Learning and Singing Sacred Harp,” Camp Fasola is the best and largest annual Sacred Harp singing school and the best opportunity to learn how to sing this music. This year there will be two sessions, with adult and youth emphasis.
- Morning Trumpet Recordings: A web site specializing in Sacred Harp recordings including a number of recordings of traditional Sacred Harp singers.
